The Poor Boy and the Golden Bird
There was a very poor boy living in a village whose name was Ahmed. He used to sell wood daily to feed his mother.
One day in the jungle, he found an injured golden bird. Its feathers were shining. Ahmed picked it up, brought it to his home, and fed it pieces of his own bread.
Mother said, "Son, we ourselves are hungry." Ahmed said, "Dear mother, we should help the voiceless."
After three days, when the bird recovered, it started to fly. While leaving, it dropped a golden seed from its beak into Ahmed's courtyard.
Ahmed planted that seed in the ground. The next morning, what does he see? A small golden tree had grown there! On which there were gold coins!
Ahmed became rich, but he did not become arrogant. He helped all the poor people of the village.
Moral: Goodness is never wasted, Allah surely rewards it.
