لالچی دکاندار اور بولنے والا طوطا

ایک گاؤں میں ایک بہت لالچی دکاندار رہتا تھا۔ وہ ہر چیز مہنگی بیچتا اور لوگوں کو دھوکہ دیتا تھا۔

ایک دن اس کی دکان پر ایک درویش آیا۔ درویش کے پاس ایک پنجرے میں ایک بہت خوبصورت طوطا تھا۔ درویش نے کہا، "یہ کوئی عام طوطا نہیں، یہ سچ بولتا ہے۔ جو بھی اس کے سامنے جھوٹ بولے گا، یہ سب کو بتا دے گا۔"

لالچی دکاندار نے طوطا خرید لیا اور دکان کے باہر لٹکا دیا۔

ایک گاہک نے پوچھا، "بھائی یہ چینی خالص ہے؟"

دکاندار نے جھوٹ بولا، "ہاں ہاں، بالکل خالص ہے!"

فوراً طوطا چلایا، "جھوٹ! جھوٹ! اس میں ریت ملی ہے!"

دوسرا گاہک آیا، "گھی اصلی ہے؟"

دکاندار بولا، "اصلی ہے!"

طوطا پھر بولا، "جھوٹ! یہ تو دو نمبر گھی ہے!"

سارا دن ایسا ہی ہوتا رہا۔ شام تک دکاندار کی ایک چیز بھی نہ بکی۔

طوطا بولا، "میں نے تمہارا کاروبار خراب نہیں کیا، تمہارے جھوٹ نے کیا ہے۔ آج سے سچ بولنا شروع کر دو۔"

دکاندار کو بات سمجھ آ گئی۔ اگلے دن سے اس نے سچ بولنا شروع کر دیا۔ لوگوں کو اس کی سچائی بہت پسند آئی اور وہ گاؤں کا سب سے امیر اور عزت دار دکاندار بن گیا۔

The Greedy Shopkeeper and the Talking Parrot 

There was a very greedy shopkeeper in a village. He used to sell everything at a high price and cheat people.

One day, a saint came to his shop with a beautiful parrot in a cage. The saint said, "This is not an ordinary parrot, it speaks the truth. Whoever tells a lie in front of it, it will expose him."

The shopkeeper bought the parrot and hung it outside his shop.

A customer asked, "Is this sugar pure?"

The shopkeeper lied, "Yes, it is absolutely pure!"

The parrot shouted, "Lie! Lie! There is sand mixed in it!"

Another customer came, "Is this ghee original?"

The shopkeeper said, "It is original!"

The parrot said again, "Lie! This is adulterated ghee!"

This continued the whole day. By evening, nothing was sold.

The parrot said, "I did not ruin your business, your lies did. Start speaking the truth from today."

The shopkeeper understood. From the next day, he started speaking the truth. People liked his honesty, and he became the richest and most respectable shopkeeper in the village.

Moral: Truth brings blessing.
