The Lazy Owl and the Secret of the Magical Book

In a dense and lush green forest, many animals lived happily together. On an old banyan tree in the same forest, an owl lived. He was no ordinary owl, he was very lazy.

Sleeping all day and at night just moving from one branch to another, this was his only work. The other animals of the forest like the sparrow, squirrel, rabbit, all worked hard day and night, some collected grains, some built their homes, but this owl just used to say "We will do it tomorrow, we will do it tomorrow."

One day a strange thing happened in the forest. A shining book slowly came flying down from the sky and fell straight under the same banyan tree.

All the animals stepped back in fear. The little sparrow said fearfully, "What is this thing?"

The owl woke up from his sleep, he looked at the book with his big eyes. The book was shining like gold. On it was written "Magical Book - Only he who works hard will be able to open it."

The owl said lazily, "Oh, this must be some ordinary book, leave it."

But the little rabbit came forward, he tried to open the book, but the book did not open. Then the squirrel came, she also applied force, the book did not open. The elephant tried with his trunk, still the book remained closed.

In the end, the lion who was the king of the forest came. He said, "If it is magical then I will open it." He struck with his paw but not even a scratch came on the book.

All the animals sat down disappointed.

Then the owl thought, why don't I try. He slowly flew down. He touched the book with his beak. As soon as he touched it, the book opened automatically!

All the animals were surprised.

A light came out from inside the book and from that light a fairy came out. The fairy said, "I am the guardian of this book. For a hundred years I have been waiting for the person who is most in need."

The fairy said to the owl, "O Owl, you are the laziest of all, but there is no greed in your heart. Everyone else wanted to open this book to show their power, you only touched it out of curiosity. That's why you are the only one who deserves it."

Then the fairy turned a page of the book. On that page was a map of the forest and on the map a place was marked with a red mark. The fairy said, "At this marked place the biggest treasure of the forest is hidden, but to reach there you will have to work hard, you will have to fly, you will have to walk."

Hearing this, the lazy owl was worried for the first time in his life. He did not like flying at all. But hearing the name of the treasure, a new passion was born inside him.

From the next day the owl changed. He used to wake up early in the morning, fly from one corner of the forest to the other, search for paths. Sometimes when he got tired the sparrow would give him water, sometimes the rabbit would show him the way. After many days of hard work, finally he reached that place with the red mark.

There was no gold or silver there. There was a clear water spring which had dried up and around it there were many dried plants.

The owl became disappointed and said, "What kind of treasure is this?"

Then the fairy appeared again and said with a smile, "This is the real treasure! Because of your hard work you have reached here. Now if all of you animals together clean this spring and water the plants, then this forest will always remain green. And what can be a bigger treasure than a green forest?"

The owl understood. He called all the animals. Everyone together cleaned the spring. In just a few days sweet water started flowing from there and the whole forest became even more beautiful than before.

After that day the lazy owl became the most hardworking. And all the animals of the forest accepted him as their teacher.

Moral of the story: Laziness is man's biggest enemy, and the real treasure is hidden in hard work. Allah helps those who work hard.
